FR: Scott Fisher, Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois RE: 19th Annual Family Kite Festival (Now.. Two Days Long) Here we go again!! Flying High On Milwaukee’s Lakefront! On Saturday, May 13th, and Sunday May 14th, The Kite Society of Wisconsin and Gift of Wings are presenting the FAMILY KITE FESTIVAL ... 19 Years, in Veterans Park on Milwaukee's lakefront. The event will begin at 10:00 am, through 5:00 pm, with the GRAND LAUNCH of 400+ kites at NOON! Yes...Now TWO days of high flying fun!! Chicago Fire and Team Pegasus precision kite flying teams will be performing three times each day during this event. They are world renowned professional kite flying teams from the Chicago/Kalamazoo areas. In addition, Yves Laforest and Jean Lemire from Montreal, Canada, will be making their FIFTH appearance with their large 75 foot Teddy Bear kite, and this year , TWO Super Giant Octopus kites. Josh Gordon (18) and his brother Zak Gordon (13) will be flying several spectacular stunt kite routines throughout the day. These kids are great! Milwaukee's own Mike Delfar, Paul Koepke, and Jim Wirt, all Professional kite flyers, will also be performing. This family event is FREE to all, with FREE parking. We will also be giving away free kites to the first 100 kids that participate in the "KIDS MAD DASH". Imagine 100 kids launching their kites all at the same time. LOOK OUT!! Free Kite flying lessons will be offered and kites are available for sale during the event. How about a celebrity Rokkakku Kite Battle? It’s all new this Spring!! I sure would appreciate if you would put our event in your community calendar or maybe do a story on this great tradition.
